How to Use This Calculator

1
What is BMR?
BMR is the number of calories your body needs to maintain basic life functions (breathing, circulation, cell repair) while completely at rest — as if you stayed in bed all day. It's the minimum caloric floor before accounting for any activity.
2
Enter your measurements
Use accurate weight and height measurements taken at the same time of day. Age affects BMR — it decreases roughly 2–3% per decade after age 20 as muscle mass naturally declines.
3
BMR vs TDEE
BMR alone won't tell you how much to eat. To find your real daily calorie needs, use the TDEE Calculator which multiplies your BMR by an activity level factor. Most people's TDEE is 1.4–1.8× their BMR.
